VEGETARIANS Many people have chosen vegetarianism for health reasons. The number of such health-oriented people seems to be increasing by the day. It is also well known that several religions observe dietary laws, which sometimes include vegetarianism. Significantly, some health and/or religious rules allow certain foods that others forbid. It is therefore helpful to know that every food approved by WeMSA for the Morning Star Super Vegetarian meets the strictest health and/or religious requirements. MORNING STAR VEGETARIANISM The Teachings of the Guide known as the Morning Star have revealed that humankind must respect all life, including the life of plants and animals. This means that humans must not recklessly destroy plant life or intentionally kill animals, including fishes and poultry. It is a grievous evil deed to do so; the punishment for such evil deeds can be quite heavy. The specific Teaching is known as Respect For Life. The Teachings of the Guide have also revealed that it is a serious evil deed to be cruel to plants and animals. The Teachings further reveal that plants love to supply nourishment to the other inhabitants of Planet Earth, and that plants feel successful and fulfilled when they provide such sustenance. With this remarkable generosity in mind, the Teachings instruct that humans who raise and harvest plants and animals or plant and animal products must always be thoughtful and kind. Therefore humans must, at all times, avoid cruelty to the plants and animals over which they have authority. This specific Teaching is known as No Cruelty. TWO LEVELS OF MORNING STAR VEGETARIANISM In order to comply with the two important Teachings of (1) Respect For Life and (2) No Cruelty, two levels of Morning Star Vegetarians are alive at this time. (1) If you comply with the Respect For Life Teaching, you are a Morning Star Vegetarian, and The Morning Star Vegetarian (MS Veg) is therefore a person who eats only those food items allowed by the Respect For Life Teaching. Consequently an MS Veg avoids:
A Morning Star Vegetarian would therefore eat:
Every meal or snack eaten by a Morning Star Vegetarian is a Good Deed, but it earns fewer Reward Points than a meal or snack eaten by a Morning Star Super Vegetarian. The Morning Star Super Vegetarian (MS2 Veg), also known as the Super Vegetarian or the Pure Vegetarian, goes farther than the Morning Star Vegetarian. An MS2 Veg avoids foods that involve human cruelty to animals. Therefore in addition to avoiding all flesh, an MS2 Veg also avoids eggs, dairy, and honey, because humans are routinely cruel to the animals that produce those foods. A Morning Star Super Vegetarian would therefore eat only:
Every meal or snack eaten by a Morning Star Super Vegetarian is a Good Deed. It earns more Reward Points than a meal or snack eaten by a Morning Star Vegetarian, because it is more difficult to be an MS2 Veg.
